Warts Information and Treatment

Warts are a very common problem. At any one point, 10% of the population will have a wart or two on their bocties. Warts are caused by viruses - they are infectious and affect children most frequently .Most warts, disappear spontaneously without any treatment. It is because of this, that there are several claims of marvellous cures. You just have to listen to old wives'tales and you may well believe that it is possible to get rid of your warts by blowing on them nine times on a full-moon night, or by rubbing them with horses' tails. Many of the modern remedies are not really any better either. So only if the wan is inconvenient, or panicularly embarrassing or painful or spreading rapidly, should it be removed. Otherwise many think, they are best left alone- in all probability, they would disappear with time without any scars.

Warts on the feet tend to be painful be. cause they get trodden on. So these should be removed by your doctor: the small warts can be removed straight away, but the large ones would need to be softened with some chemicals like salicylic acid before they are removed. The process of removal is slightly painful but the doctor is likely to give you anesthesia locally to make the area numb. Now, newer methods like cryotherapy and laser therapy are also available to treat warts. No safe and effective oral medication is yet available for treatment of warts.
