Anal Warts - Treatment and Symptoms

Anal warts, is a condition in which small warts occur in or around the rectum it is also known as condyloma, Thses are growths found on the skin around the anus (rectal opening), in the anal canal, or in the lower rectum. Warts are benign tumors of the epidermis. It is a relatively common and bothersome condition. Initially appear as tiny blemishes that can be as small as the head of a pin or grow into larger cauliflower-like protuberances. They can be yellow, pink, or light brown in color, and only rarely are painful or uncomfortable.

It is estimated by scientists that about 1 million of new cases of anal and genital warts are diagnosed in United states every year. This disease is a sexually transmitted disease that infect the anal and genital areas. They usually spread from person to person by sexual contact. They can also spread from inanimate objects, such as a shared bath towel. Approximately two-thirds of people who have sexual contact with a partner with genital warts will develop warts, usually within three months of contact.

Symptoms of Anal Warts

Follwoing are signs or symptoms of anal warts:

• Small, fleshy, grainy bumps
• Flesh-colored, white, pink or tan
• Rough to the touch
• Tiny blemishes which may be small as pin but can grow upto much larger size
• Outbreak of anal warts
