Applying Mascara

Mascara is your most effective makeup tool. Apart from the obvious choice of color, many brands promise to thicken, lengthen, darken, volumize and condition your lashes. They are also available in waterproof and regular formulas. Mascara is applied from the underside by holding the wand horizontally parallel to the eyelid and the brush is rolled slowly in the upward stroke. Before applying mascara, use an eyelash comb or damp toothbrush to comb your lashes. Applying mascara only on the upper lashes lend them a dramatic touch , while applying it lightly on the upper and lower lashes, make the eyes seem wider. Waterproof Mascara stay for a long time and is waterproof and smudge proof. Mixed Mascara is a combination of water based and water proof mascara's. They dry up quickly and are easy to remove. Do not pump the mascara wand into the container because it will push air into the container and dry the mascara out faster. Simply insert the want, turn it a couple of times and pull it out nicely.

Tips for applying eye mascara

• Use an eyelash comb to separate the wet lashes base, wiggling the brush & then comb the mascara to the tips of your lashes. Not into the lash comb. Get rid of clumbs without them by removing excess mascara from the wand.
• Always remove mascara before going to bed. This will keep lashes healthier
• If you have blond or red lashes, opt for brown mascara. Darker-lashed women can consider brown for a casual look, and black or brown-black for more pronounced or dramatic lashes.
• If you have dark circles then you should avoid using colored mascara on the lower lashes.
• You should try experimenting with different colors of mascara like brown, navy blue or green etc.
• Never curl your eyelashes after applying mascara because they can stick to the pad on curler.
• To make mascara stay on your lashes for longer, brush some foundation powder over your lashes before applying mascara to them.
