Our skin is an integral organ of our body and it is very important that we take its care and keep it healthy. Every individual has a different type of skin, some have dry skin, some oily and some have natural skin. For every different type of skin there is a different skin treatment that needs to be done to keep it healthy and alive.
We can see that with every changing season and weather where our moods change and our different organ systems react to it differently, the same way our skin reacts to it too. Like in warm weather months, we have increased sweating and we need to take clear our skin from the salts that get deposited on it, because if we do not, it can cause rashes and other sensitivities of skin. In cold weather months, the skin gets dry and tends to crack.
Achieving a healthy, glowing skin is absolutely within reach. It is possible to possess the youthful appearance without having to pay an arm and leg for cosmetic makeovers or even surgery. With all the technologies and know-how that are available these days, it is very easy to get the result that you desire. You can look and feel your best.
Before you begin to invest your time, energy, and money on skin care products and procedures, you should know certain traits and qualities towards skin care. Learning these traits will help you to make a better assessment of your skin care goals and save your valuable time and money
Age and Your Skin - Stretch Marks Treatment - As a small child grows, his weight and height increases; so the skin has to stretch to accommodate this gradual, albeit massive increase in mass. At times, especially when there is a spurt in the growth, the growth of the skin fails to cope up with the growth of the body; the stretch then forces the elastic fibres in the skin to rupture, resulting in stretch marks or striae.
Skin and Your Environment - The moisture content of the skin really means its water content- this is the most important factor which governs its softness and elasticity and is responsible for its youthful appearance. But water is constantly being lost from the skin surface (apart from what is lost through sweating) and this loss is continuously being replaced from below. There are two main factors which reduce the loss of water from the skin,- the outer horny layer or the stratum corneum and the invisible hydro-lipidic film that covers the skin surface.
Skin face Masks and Recipes - Basically all face masks have some sort of a cleansing action. Various ingredients are used in the masks, depending on the skin type and to some extent on the availability of materials. Clays form an important constituent of many face masks as they are excellent absorbing agents. Gums and polymers are added to lend sticking properties to the clays. They help to remove dirt, sebum, and dead skin so that the skin looks clean, soft and youthful.
Cleansing, toning, moisturizing and exfoliation all serve different purposes and all of them are necessary to keep your skin looking its very best.
CLEANSING
Cleansing removes dirt, bacteria and dead skin cells from the surface of the skin. Cleansing skin care is perhaps one of the most important things we can do to help keep our skin looking healthy and beautiful. Without cleansing, our faces would develop a build-up of materials that would make our faces dirty, shiny and dull. The bacteria and dirt on our face would also increase the risk of bacterial infections, leading to skin problems like acne. Cleansing is particularly important for people with oily skin, who have excess oil on their face which attracts dirt and debris.
Cleansing should not just stop with the face. Body cleansing is also important. However, a different type of cleansing may be needed for the body, than the cleansing which is needed for the face....more
TONING
Facial toning does a number of things to keep your skin looking healthy. Firstly, it removes traces of dirt and debris that are left after cleansing. It also restores the skin's natural pH balance.
Toning is very beneficial for the pores. It helps tighten them up so that there is less chance of infection and acne. A good toner can tone up the skin and make it appear smoother...more
MOISTURIZING
Moisturizing helps hydrate the skin and prevent it from further moisture loss. It can also provide a protective barrier to stop moisture from escaping from the skin. Water and many skin care products can strip the skin of moisture. Moisturizing lotion helps replace that loss moisture. It is very important for people with dry skin, who have less sebum (the skin's natural oil) on their skin.
Face masks can also have a moisturizing effect. Moisturizing face masks are very good for people with dry skin who may need some extra moisture and attention...more
EXFOLIATING
Exfoliating removes the surface layer of skin, along with any dirt, debris and dead skin cells. It provides a more thorough clean than cleansing. Removing the top layer of skin helps the new healthy skin to appear.
